Current Status: The expansive dining/lounge area is open for sit-down. They also do take-out and delivery.
Two of the DC dining world power couples are behind this place and many talents are on display, including the knack for opening a new spot in the middle of a pandemic. The opening executive chef was Johanna Hellrigl, who brought some punch back to Doi Moi (Note: Chef Hellrigl recently stepped down). Her husband Micah Wilder is behind Chaplin’s and Zeppelin and runs the beverage program here. The other couple is Andrew Dana and Daniela Moreira, who brought us Timber Pizza Co. and Call Your Mother bagels. Located in a hotel lobby, it does food all day, with a café featuring coffee and bagels and other assorted items. Lunch and dinner the focus shifts from pastry to Buenos Aires, with an Argentinian derived menu. We have sampled take-out from there twice and each time it was delicious – especially the pizzas, that are very good but not in the same style as Timber.
