The Greek Deli

Overview

The line can stretch out the door to get to the narrow counter where Kostas Fostieris has been serving customers for going on three decades.  The Greek captain’s hat and the husky commanding voice make it clear who is in charge.  The piles of freshly prepared food ready to be dished out make you reconsider just going with a gyro.  The servings are so large that it is common knowledge that a lunch platter will also get you through dinner, and maybe longer.  Repeat customers learn to plan accordingly.

The food is Greek classics like meatballs, moussaka, lamb and spanakopita.  The sides of veggies, beans and orzo (plus others) are piled high.  They also have breakfast options.  The sandwiches are also substantial.

They do have breakfast options, but they do not open until 11:00.  And they close at 3:00, so don’t forget to get anything for dinner early.

There is limited seating outside, none inside.  Most pick up and go back to the offices in the greater Farragut area.  Open during weekdays only.
