Last Updated: March 2022
Current Status: Take-out and Delivery only. Must order online.
Overview: The menu here includes the namesake sandwiches, pho, and bowls of rice, salad, or noodles. They have vegan, gluten free, and halal options. You must order ahead of time. They have no way to process payments other than online. The restaurant was a brother/sister team carrying on the food of their mother. Now it is just John slinging sandwiches and bowls. Based on our sampling, the food is pretty good and John is pretty cool.
We would also note that we’ve seen some pretty scrappy food joints over the years, but Simply Banh Mi deserves an award. It was a small restaurant on the first floor of a converted rowhouse on Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown, but times forced them to give up the dining room and retrench to the kitchen in the basement, where they serve food out the door under the stairs for take-out and delivery. Pull up to the curb and they will run the food out and might even pose for an IG photo.
