Image: Andrew Wyeth, In The Orchard (1982).
This austere picture is part of a series of works that Andrew Wyeth did with his model/muse Helga Testorf. The most famous of Wyeth’s paintings is a golden field in sun (though not completely bright). This one is an orchard in winter. Though separated by decades, they both capture similar emotions.
On Saturdays we post about art, especially art that intersects with the world of food. This year we have been focusing on the subject of where food comes from. The other days of the week we focus on D.C. dining.
We have 300 recommended restaurants in our dining guide that you can sort by cuisine, neighborhood, and current operating status (dine-in and/or take-out, etc.) in either LIST or MAP format. Though operating status is changing day-to-day, so be sure to double-check.
If you would like to make sure you don’t miss out on our postings about either art or food, then please give us a follow. We are on FB, Insta, and Twitter. Click on the icons at the top or bottom of this page to stay up to date.
