We round out our list of great neighborhood wine shops in the District with another long-standing, workhorse establishment. This one on Capitol Hill.
- Schneider’s – If you are attending a party on the Hill, there is a good chance the booze came from here. They can handle bulk and single bottles of just about anything. They are old school and particularly strong on California and France. The shelves go up above your head. There are many pedestrian wines at eye level, and some high-end stuff. It is the one-offs perched precariously above your head and out of reach that are the most curious. Staff is competent, friendly, and available. Very strong on spirits too.
You can read more of our wine coverage HERE, including several other wine shop recommendations. If you think there is a shop that we are missing, let us know.
